Alice is dusting off her headband and checking out the whereabouts of the Dormous who has been seen “hopping” around Kinsale in recent times… much to the dismay of the White Rabbit who say’s that is His job!! The March Hare just keeps on checking his watch to see ‘how many more sleeps until this year’s Gourmet Festival???
Expect fun, frolics and some fantastic food and wines at this years 35th Bollinger Kinsale Gourmet Festival to be held on 10th– 12th October this year.
The Official Friday Opening includes a Champagne reception with canapés from the Good Food Circle, followed by a dine-around amongst some of Kinsale’s finest restaurants. The opening event concludes with a ‘Bolly Ball’ with music from the Strauss Orchestra.
Visitors can expect to experience a variety of different events over the course of the weekend. Cookery demonstrations from top chefs, as well as Dining out at the GFC restaurant of their choice as part of the package. Participating Restaurants include Restaurant D’Antibes, The Blue Haven,The Captains Table @ Actons Hotel, Crackpots, Jim Edwards, Maxs Wine Bar, Man Friday, Pier One @ The Trident Hotel, Toddies, White Lady, Jolas and Fishy Fishy.
The main event on the Saturday is the ‘Mad Hatters Taste of Kinsale’ and the festival concludes on Sunday with a ‘Fruits de Mer’ luncheon supervised by Kinsale’s own celebrity chef, Martin Shanahan of Fishy Fishy, a superb four course seafood extravaganza, complemented by delicious wines from Torres Mas Rabell.
